“Be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe. No less than the trees and the stars. In the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.”

Perinatal Mental Health Support

Women’s mental health is a special area of interest that I hold dear to my heart. The astonishing mind-body journey associated with bearing a baby in a protective & safe womb (whether experienced directly, via surrogate and/or by adoption means) is something admirable of heartfelt celebration. I add the caveat, however, that a growth in understanding the issues associated with perinatal mental health is needed within our community. How we support women entering the realm of motherhood (AND their parental partners-to-be) has shown to have long lived positive psychological effects on a developing fetus.

Examples of supportive therapeutic services I can offer include:

  • precontemplation/contemplation stages of having a child
  • conception tribulations
  • prenatal ongoing mental health support
  • postpartum encounters (e.g. post-partum depression)
